Asia Burnett
Asia Burnett is an educator with the NYC Department of Education. She started her career with the NYC DOE in 2006 as a high school special education teacher. After teaching for 6 six years, she became a district staff developer for several K-12 schools throughout in Manhattan and the Bronx. Asia is currently serving as an Assistant Principal for Middle School in the South Bronx.
Asia and her husband moved from NYC to Bogota in 2010. Two of their three children attend Bogota schools; the youngest will be a kindergartner in 2016. While in NYC, she served on her daughter’s school PTA and a member of the School Leadership Team. When her family moved to Bogota, she was eager to become a member of the school’s PTO. Asia is a current member of Steen’s PTO, having served as the PTO’s recording secretary and volunteering for many of the school events.
Asia holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from The City College of New York, a Master’s of Science in Education for Urban Education from Mercy College, and a Master’s of Science in Education for Administration and Supervision from Fordham University.
